Overview
Benzoic Acid (Food Grade), also known as E210, is a white crystalline powder widely used as an antimicrobial food preservative. It has the molecular formula C7H6O2 and a molecular weight of 122.12. Because it works effectively in acidic food systems, it is a preferred choice for extending the shelf life of beverages, sauces, pickles and processed foods by inhibiting the growth of mold, yeast and certain bacteria.
