Carbomer 980 is a macromolecular polymer of acrylic acid bonded allyl sucrose or pentaerythritol allyl ether. It is usually a loose white slightly acidic powder, which can produce efficient thickening at low dosage, thus preparing lotion, creams, gel and transdermal preparations with a wide viscosity range and different rheological properties.
