| Ethylene glycol is a colorless, odorless, and sweet viscous liquid with the chemical formula C2H6O2. It is the simplest diol. It is slightly soluble in ether and almost insoluble in benzene and its homologues, chlorinated hydrocarbons, and petroleum ethers, but can be miscible with water, lower aliphatic alcohols, glycerol, acetic acid, acetone, and other substances. |

| 1. Polyester production: Over 90% of the world’s ethylene glycol is used to manufacture polyethylene terephthalate (PET), which is the main raw material for producing mineral water bottles, takeaway food boxes, and polyester clothing such as T-shirts and dresses. 2. Automotive antifreeze: Ethylene glycol aqueous solution can lower the freezing point to minus 40 degrees Celsius and is widely used in automotive water tanks and industrial cooling systems. 3. Daily life: Used as a moisturizer in cosmetics (such as Est é e Lauder Brown bottles and Skincare cleansers), as well as in pharmaceutical solvents and industrial cleaners. 4.
